Bulldozer arrives in Lucknow hospital after mayor told to remove shoes outside ICU

The matter was resolved after police reached the spot

High drama unfolded at a local hospital in Lucknow where mayor Sushma Kharakwal made a visit on Monday. Kharakwal had a heated argument with the hospital administration after she was asked to remove her shoes before entering the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).

As the altercation escalated, reports said, posters were put up outside the hospital premises and even a bulldozer was brought to the place. However, the matter was resolved after police reached the spot.

According to hospital administration, the mayor and her supporters tried to enter the ICU without following the hygiene protocol. Hospital director Mudrika Singh, however, later denied reports of an altercation between the staff and the mayor.

Kharakwal reportedly visited the hospital to meet Suren Kumar, a retired soldier from the Army brigade of the municipal corporation, who was being there.
