New budget Android rival offers an upgrade Samsung and Google won't match

There's a new smartphone in town and it comes with a feature you won't find on the latest Galaxy or Pixel phones.

Samsung and Google might rule roost when it comes to Android phones but one of their rivals is fighting back. Chinese firm OPPO has just announced the launch of its all-new Reno10 5G smartphone and it comes with a very useful accessory that you won't find when purchasing a Pixel or Galaxy device.

Tucked inside the packaging is a speedy power pack that uses OPPO's SUPERVOOC flash charging technology to refill the battery at hugely impressive speeds.

OPPO is promising that owners will be able to get a full charge in under 48 minutes and there's also the option to get all-day usage from just a few minutes plugged into the mains.

For those not already aware, both Google and Samsung ditched the charger from the packaging a number of years ago meaning those wanting improved speeds need to splash out extra to buy one. OPPO says it wants to give its users the very best experience without needing to pay anything extra which is why you'll find the adaptor in the box.

Along with that impressive battery boost, OPPO also says they have improved the performance of the charging thanks to something called the Battery Health Engine. This helps things last longer and cuts down on the deterioration seen on some other devices.

Other features coming to the Reno10 5G include a triple-lens rear camera which can shoot impressive closeups thanks to its Telephoto lens plus OPPO is promising pro-style portrait shots and brighter snaps at night.

Owners will find a curved 6.7-inch screen which also features a 120Hz refresh rate for speedy scrolling and stutter-free gameplay.

It's powered but a MediaTek Dimensity 7050 processor, is fully 5G ready and gets a swish Silvery Grey finish.

If all that sounds exciting then there's more good news as it's also pretty cheap to buy. OPPO has confirmed that it goes on sale today and costs just £399.

It's available at EE and direct from the OPPO Store.
